Description
Homemade, according to the Hagstrom “BISONIC” design (also called “Darkstar” by Fred Hammon). I make them following the physics of these kind of pickups, same bobin, same magnets, same pole pieces sizes (included same materials). I redesigned only their “look” in order to ease the adjustments which wa a kind of pain in the neck with the bisonics…
They are available with two usual string spacing ( 16.25 et 17.25mm ) but are available on request on any spacing you need. Supplied with stailess steel pickup rings or any kind you’ll ask for. (they will need special routing on Fender bass)
Samples here under have been tracked on a very old traynor bassmate from 1969 by a Korg worstation D16XD and a valve microphon “studio projects TB1”.No correction were done between ifferentinstruments, the sound heard is the sound each instrument deliver on the same setting. the bass used as “reference” was a cheap trashbin rescued Ibanez. Samples 1 to 5 are all played the same with fingers then pick, on neck then bridge pickups on various bass. the last sample were done as a gift by one of my early customers.
